El 4 de febrer de 1977 es va publicar l'onzè àlbum del grup anglo-americà Fleetwood Mac. Amb només dos membres (John McVie i Mick Fleetwood) de la banda original que va crear Peter Green el 1967, el grup havia patit diversos canvis en la seva formació fins que el 1975 es va gestar la que apareix en aquest important àlbum de la seva discografia. Amb Christine McVie (veu i teclats), Lindsey Buckingham (veu i guitarres) i Stevie Nicks (veu) 'Rumours' va ser el treball que els va catapultar a la fama internacional. Amb hits com “Dreams”, “Go your own way”, “Don't stop” i “You make loving fun”, és un dels àlbums més venuts de la història amb xifres que superen els 45 milions de còpies.
