El 6 de febrer de 1967 Columbia Records va publicar als EUA el quart àlbum del grup The Byrds, 'Younger Than Yesterday', en què, igual que a l'anterior, van seguir incorporant elements de rock psicodèlic a la seva música usant instruments de vent i enregistraments al revés. Amb temes com 'So you want to be a rock'n'roll star' i la seva versió de 'My back pages' de Dylan, només va arribar al lloc 24 de les llistes Billboard, però en retrospectiva es revela com un dels millors treballs dels Byrds, el seu llegat més perdurable.
