"Script for Jester's Tear" és l'àlbum d'estudi debut de la banda britànica de rock neoprogressiu Marillion, llançat al Regne Unit el 14 de març de 1983 per EMI Records. L'àlbum va aconseguir el número set i va passar 31 setmanes a la llista d'àlbums del Regne Unit, finalment va aconseguir un certificat de platí i va produir el senzill Top 40 "He Knows You Know" i el senzill Top 20 "Garden Party".
"Script for a Jester's Tear" és l'únic àlbum d'estudi de Marillion que presenta el baterista original i membre fundador de la banda, Mick Pointer, que va ser acomiadat després de la gira de l'àlbum pel Regne Unit.
És considerant una peça vital per a qualsevol fan de Marillion i un treball essencial per a qualsevol fanàtic del rock progressiu.
